It was a brand new K Series device which was launched after Redmi K20 Series in India region and this device will receive the 2nd major upgrade from Xiaomi very soon, as beta testing is finally started.
Redmi K50i – HyperOS status
Xiaomi has started the beta testing of the latest HyperOS update in China and Global in 24.1.4 beta build and internal stable testing will start soon, so we have to wait for that version. It is a second beta build in China & Global and users are now really happy to hear this news, as they have started the beta testing on Android 14 and HyperOS for this device.
We can expect the latest HyperOS update in Q2 of 2024, as for now beta build is spotted and in upcoming months Xiaomi will start testing in internal builds and then stable so I suggest you to wait for Q2 to Q3 for HyperOS in Redmi K50i and Poco X4 GT.

I don’t agree with you currently as Android device policy suggest that 2 major updates of Android version with 3 years of security updates and this smartphone is at PRO level which has MTK D8100 chipset. Xiaomi should look upon this!
